Scope

The Assistant Administrator shall be responsible to Town Council under the supervision of the Town Administrator

 

Function

The Assistant Administrator shall be to assist in the administration of the Town.

 

Duties

1.                  Expected to reside within the Town of Langenburg.

 

2.                  Develop and maintain good working relations with department heads, Council, boards, organizations and the public.

 

3.                  Act in the capacity of Administrator during the temporary absence of the Administrator.

 

4.                  Assist the Administrator in developing and maintaining appropriate systems, records and reports.

 

5.                  Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and year end and monthly financial reports.

 

6.                  Be responsible for:

o   maintaining the assessment and tax roll

o   levying taxes

o   maintaining water and sewer accounts, entering meter readings and preparing billings

o   preparation of accounts for payments

o   payroll preparation and remittances

 

7.                  Attend Council meetings.

 

8.                  Attend and participate in professional conventions, education courses, workshops and seminars.

 

9.                  General clerical and office duties including but not limited to:

o   Answer incoming telephone calls and direct calls as required

o   Answer general inquiries received at the front counter and direct as required

o   Front counter receipting of all monies received.

o   Prepare and mail invoices for services provided.

o   Process incoming and outgoing mail

o   Prepare deposits as required

o   Take bookings for the Langenburg Community Centre and Town Meeting Room


o   Type general correspondence, reports, forms, applications, minutes, bylaws, agendas, etc.

o   Filing correspondence and supporting documents as needed.

o   Prepare and distribute agenda packages for Council Meetings.

o   Such other duties as may be assigned.

 

Wage

Wage will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

 

Hours

 

35-40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday.  Occasional evening and weekend hours may be needed, able to be arranged mutually between Employer and Employ
