The sign 'Family and Friends' (previous town logo) was created in 1970. It was designed by Colleen Bessel for a Langenburg pin. Later the replica of the pin was built in the center of town north of Kaiser William Avenue. 

This sign symbolizes a strong community foundation that was laid for future generations and community growth and represents the town's core focus on families.
